Example of Excellent Writing

For my example of excellent writing I chose Shel Silverstein's poem Masks. It's very short, but it manages to create a nice little story with the few lines it has. It's both a clever poem for kids, and a somewhat moving message for adults, which I think makes it even better.

  1. I completely agree with what you are saying here; I believe that sometimes we have to take a step back from the overly complex world that we live in and look at the more simple things. Usually the simple aspects of our lives can provide much more than the complicated ones. This poem is a great example, the writing is at a level that first graders can probably read but at the same time it has a purpose and meaning, which we should always place an emphasis on.
